Troy Etter

I am a writer, educator, and musician. For many years, I worked as a freelance flutist in Boston and New York City, performing with orchestras and as a soloist and chamber musician. I also taught music history and music theory courses at Hofstra University and the City University of New York.

Music & Art originated as a project I completed years ago for a comparative studies course. It stems from my longstanding interest in how music and visual art often complement and illuminate one another—historically, thematically, and aesthetically.
